70 Challenger / 340 / auto / stock exhaust manifolds. Motor mounts are only 1yr old, passenger side pipe fits fine and is centered. I've been struggling with this install and now have an interference problem with the driver's side / shift linkage. It looks like the pipe bend is not correct? Once it's bolted to the stock manifold there is no more adjustment. Thought?

Flip the adjuster block to the top side.
I know in installation instructions on their headers explicitly state you need to do this.

Really... just flip the block. It'll work. No cutting. No bending.
Shown are headers, but it's the same concept.

Thanks for the suggestions, I really appreciate the help. I'm more convinced the pipe is bent wrong. I did read the instructions (several times), no mention of flipping the adjuster. No mention of modifying the linkage, unless you have column shift (which I don't). 1) I did try flipping the block and it won't fit without denting in the floorpan. Only 1" of space, needs at least 1.5", and I still don't link this would cure the problem. 2) There is interference on both ends as the shifter is moved through the gears. 1st pics were for park. This 2nd set is for D1. (Except for last 1, you can see how this would move into the pipe when shifted to D1.) 3) There is 4-5" of clearance to T-bar, pipe could/should be definitely be shifted outward

You have headers and your adjusting block has the bolt on the side , he does not.
Would dimpling the pipe along with tweaking the linkage work?

I remember flipping the block when I put my TTI headers/exhaust on over 10 years ago on my 340 E body, now that it was mentioned. The last set of TTI pipes I installed had real small numbers stamped into the ends of all the pipes, make sure they are all matched up. Mine weren't and my pipes didn't fit quite right until I got them all matched up. It's possible to put it togeather without them matching up, but it won't fit right. My

Adjuster is keyed, so I could drill it out and move to the side, but this isn't really the problem.
I have a couple of emails to TTI and will call tomorrow. I would have to dimple half the tube to clear it. Problem is the lever starts hitting the tube immediately and continues as the shifter moves from Park to D1. I even took off the selector shaft and bent it upwards trying to clear, but it would take >2". The pipe angles upward in the area so it just keeps hitting through the travel. If I bent the shift lever enough to clear it would practically be straight and hit the NSS.
I did double check the PNs, Left is on drivers side and Right on passengers side.
Wish it was something simple, but I'm just not seeing it.
There's 6" of clear space to move the pipe away from tranny?

Not to hijack this topic but is the speedo cable wire tied to your torsion bar? Not sure if that is a really good idea. Are you having in issue by doing it that way???

If you were to loosen and remove the 2 engine mounting bolts and put a jack under your oil pan and raise the engine or lower or side to side it just a bit to see if you can get more clearance before modifieing anything first. You will be surprized how much things change down under there with the motor loose. Get your clearance and then hopefully bolt the motor in. Just because you have new motor mounts don't make em right. That's what I would do if it were me. I'd bet there's not anything wrong wih the pipes.

I bolted mine on my 340 about 13-14 years ago, got about halfway done and put it on hold for a week. Then a friend came over and help discover I had something put togeather wrong. Corrected that and remember fliping over the shift linkage. Maybe a slight bend on the trans lever? Didn't mess with motor mounts or anything else. Took about a hour for him the help me get it done and bolted up. Fast forward to today, it is still on the car,headers and pipes. Drove it today and hundreds of people have noticed the car because of it's sound. I have received many thumbs up every time I drive the car. It has been one of the best values ever for my challenger. It don't leak one bit either, never has. Yes it has been worth every penny and then some to me.

Had to go take another look to make sure there was no way to connect the head pipe to the wrong side, different angles so that's ruled out. This pic tells the whole story in my mind, the pipe is just too close to the tranny. There's plenty of room to move it away. If that flange is welded just a few degrees off, it will shift the whole assembly. Hope I can say I'm happy down the line, at this point only major disappointment!

Welcome to the world of SUPPOSEDLY BOLT IN parts for Mopars.
The tti tailpipes I bought for my 69 dart didn't even remotely come close to fitting in the STOCK location , biggest waste of money for them. I only hope the 2.5" B body system fits like it is supposed to ... STOCK LOCATION for exhaust tips ... 10 years after I bought it ... ...
Have you talked to tti YET ??? I would ask them to send you the pipe WITHOUT the flange welded on in exchange for the pipe you have and tack the pipe to the flange where YOU want it, then weld it fully, problem solved ... just hope the rest of the system fits on that side properly.
