Was going through some old pictures and came across this car. It's only an hour or so away from me (if it's still there). Anyone know what it is?

Is it worth rescuing?

If it still looks like that it is.

Expect it to need floor pans, and it looks like the driver side headlight is missing the lenses and trim, those parts are 39 only and sometimes difficult to find. Is the hood still there? is there correct paper work for it?

If it was priced right, I'd be getting it. Gene

DITTO. Worth fixing.

I love the "Willys look" front end.

R.

BTW, it's worth more as a street rod than restored.

Worth grabbing if you can get it cheap.
I'd suggest jacking it up and pulling the front clip. It should have 2 big nuts under the radiator, then a few bolts at the back of the fenders to the cowl. Disconnect wiring and it will lift off then, allowing you to do tree work with more room and less fear.

It should! They were all bolted together roughly the same.
I forgot that the bumper and brackets must be pulled too.
They come off pretty easy, the hard part is usually getting the bolts out of the fenderwell and at the front of the running board. They are typically rusted. Soak many times first!

its been a southern car most of its life,,,has been apart many times by the previous owner for repaint,,,,so i should be good to go as far as rusty bolts,,providing n othing has been altered as far as the bolts and hard ware,,,

my real question i guess would be,,does the radiator shell stay with the frame or the front sheet metal ??

and the inner fender sheet metal, does it stay on the car or come off with the clip ? thank you

Here's a shot of my 40.
Inner fenders, radiator and frame, all of it comes off in one chunk. Have a friend grab one side, you get the other. Trying it alone causes bends, DAMHIK!
