I am thinking of a new Powermaster Retro alternator for my 1970 440 6pk Super Bee, but wondering if the 75 amp single pulley dual field unit is too much for the stock wiring system?? The engine wiring harness is a Year One replacement, but underdash is all original.

For some reason the 50 amp model is a double pulley only...

Anyone tried this?

Thanks,

Arnie

Not sure about the 75 amp but I know the wiring is beefier for the 90 amp police alternator. The main wire that runs from the batt side is the one that might need to be bigger.
