Ready to put my 72 RR together. It is 1 of 329 made. It is GY8 which is gold. It has an air grabber hood and has black bucket seat interior and is not coded for a strobe stripe. To go along with the black air grabber bubble and black interior do I put a black strobe stripe on or let it off to keep it original?

Opinions please

I vote no stripe.

It takes gasoline to interest me.

I have mixed fealings on the stripe. The 71-72 has a lot of unbroken area along the c piller (That's why the stipe was put on be Chry to begin with), so I aways thought something should be there (vinal top excluded). I thought that the 71 was too thin and the 72 was too long and really distracting with the extra stobes. Since your car never had it, and if it is still numbers matching, then no, if not then go ahead.
Me, I came up with my own stobe and painted it on.

On those cars, the rear strobe stripe looks kind of tacky and added on IMO. I would leave it off.

Isn't this car coded for V21/V25??
If so put that on the N96 car; Or no stripes?? If not run without the strobe it for a while; you can always ad it later

We all can ask for clarification to many unanswered questions; God is always talking to us, we just need to find the right channel.

A gold 72 with air grabber and black gut? Oh man, what a beautiful car! Please post a picture, even of it unrestored. I would personally build it just like Chrysler did, but if you wanted to add stripes, I always thought those rare stripes that run parallel to the air grabber bubble and continue down the decklid are very cool. My 72 rr (orange/black) came with the reflective white strobe stripe. It looks grey or even close to black depending on the lighting.

Here are some direct comparisons for you. I tried going without, just didn’t look right. Go black reflective.

Thanks for that comparison. As I said before, that C piller is just not right without something to break it up. Again, if the car has numbers, then maybe not, it's your car though, have fun with it. I have a bud with a 72 GTX, and he put both front and rear on his, YIKES, way too much (although I could never tell him)!
