I wanted to see suggestions for what type of driveshaft and where to get one. I will be replacing my stock drive shaft and want to see what I should get. I am running a 4 speed and slicks on occasion with approx 500 hp. Is aluminum the best or what should I use.

I will be getting a drive shaft made shortly... I
am going with moly and will have Dynotech make it..
I'm going moly because its a street rod and its a
bit more durable on the street... I dont think you
will see any weight difference between moly and alum
due to the wall thickness they have to make the alum

just ordered my new one from Driveshaft Specialists and it will be moly, my old one was an old Mopar Performance welded seam kit from Mancini,, been a good one but it's was time to upgrade.

I just got my moly driveshaft from DoctorDiff.
I sprung for the 1350 joints and it was still a great deal!

Call Dynotech and see what they recommend. They are great guys . Mine is mild steel behind a 550 hp or so small block that goes high 1.30 60' at 3240#. No problems in two years.

I found a new aluminum shaft out of a 3/4 ford van, has 1350 U joints on Craigslist for 50.00 dollars. Cost a 125.00 dollars to have it shortend.
