Even though trans issues messed with the Little Rocky's maiden voyage. What I thought on the first pass with the brand new 904 ( the car did have a 998) seemed to be a simple shifter adjustment I now think is internal, I'm dropping the pan to try my Cheetah I know to be good, hope it's that simple. Only the second issue with a new trans I've had in 25 years, guess I can't complain too bad. But I decided right then that a bad day personally wasn't gonna ruin my whole day. It Was great spending about the whole day with Chip and Jim Owens, and a few Moparts brothers dropped by too. My friend Ben who never drove down the track before had a great time with his 07 Charger R/T. Chip Absolutely OWNED the True Street Class, his Cuda is Simply beyond words! Jim and Chip are 2 of the nicest people you'll ever meet anywhere, thanks again guys for the hospitality! The weather was perfect, a bit chilly in the morning but it warmed up to the low 70's

Truer words were never spoken! I still got a precious little bit of data that will come in handy for next time. I left REAL EASY ( no heat in the tires and only slightly more aggressive than from a red light from idle...avoiding any chance of flipping it over!) and it squatted and went 1.74 to 60 feet, not great but quicker and straighter than I thought for a baby step. Much More to come so I'm stoked I didn't hear it but my friend overheard the announcer say...."'somebody come to the tower and tell me what in the &@!# that THING is! " So yeah, with friends around and a beautiful day there's no point dwelling on any negatives

Bobby, it was great getting to hang out w/ you again! Me and Pa had a great time! Sure seemed like Ben had fun running his charger. He did really good for his first time down a dragstrip! Good to see Ray (sixpackgut), Sonny Hart, and Mike Daurity out there too! If I left anyone out, I'm sorry...way too tired and my head is 300 degrees (head is sunburnt, lol) Winning true street was a good way to end a great day! The track was awesome, hooked great all day. You're not alone w/ the transmission Bobby, I'll be taking mine out too. It's due for a freshening and I think my car slowing down is b/c of a converter/transmission issue.

Thanks, Jim! That would be great! I launched it pretty soft ( really soft... Like there was an egg under my foot). The lady in the Tower said 'are you the driver?' I reckon I was thinking 'probably more like the Astronaut!' But it did 60' straighter than I expected so that's at least a good baseline. With the 4 x 4 suspension it's got a fair amount of travel, the "balancing act" I'm shooting for is to raise the front and squat the back without carrying the wheels because with the super short wheelbase having the front wheels on the ground might be helpful The good news is I swapped the old T/a valve body in last night and raised all 4 wheels off the ground and ran it through the gears...everything in the drivetrain seems to be A/OK now so I'm fired up to get her out again. Maybe I'll hit on of those Darlington T&T's with ya! Jim thanks again for everything! You're one of my favorite people ever! I envy and admire the fun you enjoy with your fine son, ( yeah, that's you Chip). Seeing you guys makes me wish sometimes my boy shared my love of cars too... But it didn't turn out that way. But he plays guitar and sports and I like that too, so i guess it all works out. 2 out of 3 ain't bad, huh?

Nice to hear y'all had a good time with beautiful weather. I haven't been able to make it back up there since about '87, for one reason or another. But the times I did go, I always had a blast. Finally put those headers I bought from you to use, Bobby. My son came over yesterday and after finishing some wiring and the fuel line, we fired the Charger up (open headers, of course ). It was worth missing the Rock again just to see the ear-to-ear grin on his face when we started it up. Tim

Due to the holiday I didn't have much time to sort thru the pictures. I did find one of the Daihatsu. I have many pictures of the blue hemicuda. I will post more later but I put a couple of pictures here . If you click the picture you can see the high resolution version. I didn't have any pictures of the white Charger but I did have a video - I uploaded it to YouTube.

Great to meet you too, Ray! We need to have some regional Moparts meets sometime real soon! Doug, thanks for the pics! I know the Rocky is small, but it looks like a Tonka toy next to that Cuda
