What differences are there, if any, between the 1970 ebody manual shift steering column and 1971 and up? Thanks in advance.

70 Manual shift & floor shift auto are the same... 71 has the tab you depress in order to turn the key to the steering locked position....

So the 70 has no tab to depress, that should be easy to spot. Thanks for the tip on the floor shift auto/manual shift being the same. I see on ebray they usually list the item as manual or auto shift.

Actually I think you'll see its auto or manual steering... that does make a difference.

now you have me confused. Are you saying it makes a difference if it is manual or power steering?

Yes, manual steering box is shorter so the column is longer...

.-70 collumns have a satin ignition tumbler. -70 have a lever on the inner tube sticking out in the engine room(for the reverse lock out).and maybe the -70 s have a longer turn signal lever too? again, maybe the hazard knob is different too. aha.. and the key lamp is different also..
