Been using the conversion u-joint on 3 cars for many years..
71 dart 360 has run 10.90s in Vegas with transbrake for 5 yrs now...
71 Demon 360 has run 11.10s in Vegas, now with transbrake going on second season.
you should not have any problems with the 7260/7290 u-joint.

Are your conversion u-joints solid or are they greasable?

You should be fine. I would source a solid one if available. #1 make sure the ujoint moves free in both planes. with the shaft horizontle supported just off the ground I rap the 2 "ears" between the shaft and the ujoint with the pein end of a medium hammer to square it up & free it after knocking in the ujoint
