Any special technique to this? What if it needs to be readjusted when installing? I thought I read on here awhile back that you spray some water down first, so it slides around until it's in exactly the right position. Is that right?

You can use water with a tiny drop of soap or Windex.... For a console I would most likely center it around the shifter hole first

Yes, it's sticky on the mating surface. Does that matter when using water to apply?
