I bought a 71 Demon, 318 car with 7 1/4 and drum brakes recently and without asking alot of questions, installed a set of front KH brakes. I did not change the master cylinder and prop brake. The brakes work but not very good and the pedal is very hard and the car does not stop wac.

Besides the mistake of not changing the MC and Prop valve, is there any other issues i have created?

What is the easiest way to change the prop valve

ideas and suggestions welcome.

Drum brakes have a different master , you need to change both the master cylinder and the prop valve.

What John said, or add the M/C and an aftermarket adjustable proportioning valve.

No proporting valves on drum brake cars, only came on disc brake front with drum brake rear cars As already pointed out the disc brake cars neeed a disc brake M.C. with no residual valve on the disc brake reservior Your dragging the disc with the residual valve and you need the proper size master cylinder bore size

thanks for the reply, is there any tips for installing the disk brake Prop valve. I picked up one and it looks awful tight in there to get any wrenches to loosen the brake lines. any suggestions appreciated.
