(Davis Unified Ignition) in their small-block Mopar? What do you think of it? How does it run?

thanks

We used one in a small block Chevy in a asphalt stock car. It worked great

put one in a 66 200 c.i. 6 cyl mustang and the difference was shocking. it was huge tho compared to the block and looked out of place. worked very well but it looked strange when you popped the hood.

No but considered it for a non-MOPAR project. Don't plan to use it 1) because total advance (mechanical + vacuum) isn't enough for that application 2) The GM ignition module it uses is considered robust if mounted on a heat sink. The distributor does not make a very good heat sink... so maybe not so robust for sustained use.

What's wrong with using an electronic Mopar distributor to trigger an MSD 6AL or digital 6?

Smaller cap diameter and I would bet just as hot if not hotter spark.

Smaller cap diameter means more chance of arc-over inside the cap. There's a reason the manufacturers went to larger caps with the big plug gaps.
The GM 4-prong electronic ignition makes a pretty good long-duration spark and costs $30, way less than a new MSD6.

Of course, I am using the electronic dist. into an ebay MSD6A that I got for something like $40.

Got one on my Bronco with 351 windsore. Mostley bought it to clean up all the DuraSpark stuff. I'm happy with it.

ha! Yeah, I'm good too.

Thanks for the input...just wanted to get some feedback since I couldn't find a lot of "real world" info on it.
