Are all slant 6 engines externally balanced? Ive never seen one with a weighted converter. So all flywheel/torque converters exchange?... save for the pre-post 68 small crank pilot deal?

If I hafta come in and getchya.......I'm gonna getchya!

They are all internally balanced.
All '68-up 904 non-lock up convertors will exchange with non-lock up '68-up 904s. All lock up 904 convertors will exchange with lock up 904s. Difference is 23 vs 24 spline input shaft.

The cast crank motors (mid '76 and later) had a different looking damper on them but all are still interchangable. Slants are actually neutral balance.

Besides the crank register they did change the location of the timing tab/mark in the mid '60's too.

so would you just have to remark the balancer if you used the different t cover w the diff tab?

Sure. Find true TDC and make a notch with a hacksaw blade or 3 point file.
