Im in the middle of collecting parts for my single turbo EFI 400 build. I'm looking for opinions on solid roller lifters. Who is running what, and have you had any issues with them? I've ran a set of crane's before and busted a tie bar within minutes of firing up the car and wiped out a new LSM cam. Crane sent me a new one and they worked with no issues for multiple seasons. Like I said, who is runnin what in their big block, and what do you think?

Isky Red Zones in my hemi. Sent em back for inspection after 2 years and they needed nothing. That was 2008, still going strong, although it is time for a freshen up.

I just have a regular set of Cranes in my 440. Nothing special, but they've been troublefree after about 3 years worth of abuse.

In a stock block the Morrels ( or is it Morel) are great and the best for the $$--they are pretty low Call Bullet Cams--they are the house brand or better yet call Competition Wedge--he will steer you right- and some other members here sell them just whatever you do skip the Comp 829-16s they are trouble, I had one out of the box the other day and it had one and 1/2 thou taper--it was too big on the fat end and would not even go in the block--

Crane Ultra or the best Crower part # for your lifter bore size I have both but I haven't ran the Cranes yet

If you have heads with a large offset intake rocker arm (Indy 440-1); then with a low deck I like the offset seat lifters, Comp 892 or 87019

Just watch out for this casting bump that gets close to the pushrods.

Thanks for the input guys. Are there any others that anyone knows of out there that don't require a bushed lifter bore?

Comp 829's, i've run them in several big blocks and my hemi without bushings. only down side is they need to be rebuild every few years if you do alot of street driving. if you have the cash i think the isky's are probably the way to go.

I ponied up the cash for the Isky Red Zones because my Hemi is street driven 90% of the time. So far, so good, but it has just been a few months.

Apparently the red-zones offer the easy roll option so there`s no needle bearings to fail........read; NOT CHEAP but neither are our motors.

The Crowers have a longer skirt on the oil galley side, they help mask the oil galley at full lift

Same here. 5 years rebuilt after 3 because a Crane rocker broke. I also have Isky Tool Room spring that are 5 years old and still test well.

Hmm, these crowers seem to be a little more in the budget too.

The Crowers and isky are both good pieces, it more comes down to what do you NEED for lifters, based on engine combo and block combination etc. Check your PMs.
