i just put in a 727 trans form a 77 Tradesman van into my car. Before i did i put a B&M shift kit in it. I didnt have to drill any holes just remove a spring and a ball. I know i did this correctly. My problem is i have no gears. I can shift through them all and nothing it acts like its in nuetral. I belive this is a fluid transfer problem. Where might the problem be and also is there a port on the transmission to test pressure?

Were you able to test/verify it was a working transmission before you did the shift kit?

Sounds like the shifter linkage, what I call the rooster comb on the valve body is not engaged into the manual valve in the valvebody.

Since the transmission condition was unknown when installed it's possible that the pump is bad. The fluid level is a good indicator of pump function, if the fluid level stays the same when running in Neutral as it was when sitting overnight the pump isn't working.

On the passenger side of the trans there are three "humps" with pipe plugs installed, the center hump is where you measure the line pressure; the shifter has to be in a forward gear when testing.
