Julian, My B1MC's flow 457 and change as well. They have oval shaped intake ports. But we dont race flow benches. Of course I have heard they cannot flow that much air, so take it for what it's worth. But I believe the info from Mike Dukes flow bench and the on another bench they were basically the same numbers.

My heap has been .04 at 169.89 at 2940. On the odd occasion when we run it all out I shift at 8300 RPM. My shift recovery is horrendous as many here can attest to watching the data replay. It will drop to convertor stall and sit there. It takes right at 4 seconds to gain 400 RPM, the shift is usually in the 3.38-3.40 seconds, no gear either. Then takes off, unfortunately I am almost done with my pass by then. It is just not loose enough. The only one that was was so inefficient with 22% slip it would put a ton of heat in the transmission. As in after two rounds of racing in about a hour span when I got back to the trailer the solendoid was stuck and trans would not move. It is also the fastest of the bunch by a over two tenths of a second

I would put my return(drain)lines above the windage tray away from the oil pick-up. The return line is gonna have air in it,think about it when all the oil drains out it has air when oil starts running through it again it will be pushing air out.The last thing you want is air bubbles getting into your oil pump.Even on a fuel return line they tell you to install it away from the pick-up lines to keep from getting air bubbles into your fuel system, and the oil pump is not only stronger but pulls more volume than a fuel pump.

Before I sold my old engine (451)and brought my big Indy engine I brought a new ATI TreeMaster 8" converter,so the 1st thing I did was send it back to ATI.The 1st thing ATI told me was with the big engine I needed a 9" converter, well I did not have the $$$ at that time so I told them to set it up the best they could and I would buy a new one when I had the $$$. Last year I called Indy and told them I was ready for them to build me a new 9" converter, when I told them what my 60' times and ET was guess what they told me You might best keep that converter till at least you tear it up because I don't think we can build you a faster converter than the one you have. So like Greg said don't be afraid to run it loose.

while reading the experience being typed through this post, it is looking like loose may be what I'm after , converter wise. I am taking in all that is posted here, and appreciate the sound hands on experience being spoken.

I just got back from the speed shop. WHEW!!!!! 214 bucks for fittings, connectors, and 12 ft of hose. But it's all new, and I am that much closer to getting this build up and running. Koffels emailed and said pushrods will be shipped by Friday. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

The place where Chris's Barracuda has his , is where I was considering to install mine. Below the tray and in front of the door. Bulk head connectors was my first consideration. I was going to start on the pan tonight or tomorrow.

Alan..

I also added a top drain plug @ 9 quarts so I can check my oil level..

Chris..

Kenny, thanks for your post. After waiting for over a month, I just got notified my rockers were shipped today. Looks like I will be able to wrap mine up and get it out to the track soon.

Also a big thanks to member Chris'sBarracuda for the converter, and Ronny for the other new B1 internals you guys have helped me to round up.

Email me what convertors you have and what you want for them, I will mention it to a friend of mine. He will be needing a convertor for his 572.
