I am restoring a 74 Charger Small Block and I have been told that with an oil pan from a 400CI engine I would not have to change the K-frame. Is this a fact and if so does anyone know the oil pan factory number that will work or what year 400 oil pan will work?
Rick

Are you putting in a big block?? or small block??
Yes the big block do have a different K frame.
The spool type mounts are in a different location.
I know one is for sale if needed.

IIRC,the oil pan is body specific (A/B/E/C,etc) to clear the steering.
Here is a link to help you tell the differences.

A 400 is a big block in the Mopar world and the oil pan from a 400 is not going to fit on a small block Mopar.

If you're restoring a small block '74 Charger then it is probably a 360 engine and you'll need a 360 oil pan. Look at the ID stamp on the engine to tell which engine you have.

Thank You! I think I will be putting in a stoker 340 or 360 to replace the 318.
