Dunno man if you have to pedal that much you should just drop your et some. That's too much "play" I usually give myself a a tenth or 2.

Me too. For people that know nothing about bracket racing its looks so easy.

If the MODS did their job I would not be hitting the notify MOD button. LOL

?? If I run 12.05-12.15 I'll dail 12.10, middle of the passes. Always works for me. I Have a shelf full of trophies. I usually make it to the 1/4's...finshed 2nd more times than I'd like to remember. Those guys in the video look like they are bagging 3-5 tenths.... Not much bagging if you give yourself 1/100th.

If your car will run 12.05 flat out and you dial 12.10, you're holding .05, 5/100ths. If you held .5 or 5/10ths you would dial 12.55. My car ussually runs within .03-.04 on any given day.

If I ran 10.83 and 10.81 I would dail 10.80. Thats just the way I like to do it. Run flat out and if I have room I will tap the brakes with my foot still on the gas at the top end. I figure you have to get a good lite as thats where most races are won and lost. If I dont get a good lite I most likely will loose the race. The car needs to run the number and the drivers needs a good lite. I dont like to play all that sand bagging as its to easy to run out to me. If I dont get the lite or run the number then I dont deserve the win anyway. Ron

If you run 12.05 and 12.15 and dial 12.10 you are guessing ,not holding. On one video at the finish he says holding 3 probably got 7 .,meaning he ran .04 under or safe.He can obviously trust the car to run the number, combined with good lights makes for a very tough customer. It does not mean you cant win,but against top talent if you cant run within a couple of hundreds of your predicted et all day you are going home early.

love racing the guys that leave some in the bank. there easy to break them out. they refuse to let you take the stripe first.

What are you guys using as a reference point on the other car? I need to cut it closer at the big end... usually i take the stripe by .02x, been having trouble judging past that..

That's a lot of pedaling up there. That is a recipe for disaster and I have lived it. Broke a valve and put a hole in a piston doing that exact thing. I'd rather dial hard by .01 to .02 and hang it out the back end. If I'm out, just scrub the brakes a bit.

Kevin, in my wife's '68 barracuda I typically use the wing window and in my car I put a piece of tape on the passenger window where a wing window would be if it had one. And then after I turn the first bulb on I look at where the other car is when they are per-staged so I will know if I need to keep them dehind or in front of the line at the stripe

On the driver side I don't have a stripe on the window but I do look to see where they are when we are per-staged. I have a window net on the driver side that I try to use but I need to see if I can put a stripe on the driver side too.

I try to take .015 or less stripe but that sure doesn't always work out lol. I am better at judging the stripe margin when I'm in the left lane. An being the faster car really helps too.
