I bought an R1A block and need to change the oil pan. I've read that it should be a 360 style pan. If I drop the pan is there an easy way to tell if it's a 360 or 340 style pan? Thanks.

The sealing area at the rear main cap for the pan is smaller for
the 360 compared to the 318/340. I can get you measurements
tonight after work, if somebody doesn't post them.

Most R-blocks use the 360 pan.

You should be able to visually look at the pan without removing it to tell. If the front and rear sealing area are the same size it's a 318/340 rear cap. If it's smaller in the rear it's a 360 rear cap.

Thanks. Thats what I figured. There's a 360 Milodon for sale here and I didn't want to guess on it.

Hopefully I can do that. It's a Charlies pan so it has that wide flat area in the back.

I got an adaptor from Ryan J to use a 340 pan on a 360 block. Its a silicone mess but it works just fine and doesn't leak. Just letting you know of the option.

Looks like it's a 340 pan. Gotta love Mopar!

Me too. The oil pan "Adapter" works just fine.
