I think I saw a post over at FABO or FBBO and someone said that he quit rebuilding thermoquads.

Harm's Auto is the source for a full TQ restoration. Search past threads and you'll see. Everyone is pretty happy with his work and my TQ is with Scott now.

Mike.

If you want to buy a rebuilt T-Quad, Summit has those for ~ $265.

I hope that's not true.

Wow, that sucks. I bought a TQ from him a couple of years ago - not sure exactly how he modified it but I'd love to know. It runs great

Something "happened" to that guy. We sent him a 72 340 carb, it took forever and when it came back it was so full of sand the throttle shaft would not move. No excuse for that. Was not cheap either, there is no place for him in my world.

I never had a problem with TQs myself but got talked into sending one to "the Guru". It was for a I/Stock Mirada. We couldn't even use it... IT WAS FULL OF SAND

Like media blasting sand? Or like they took a trip to the beach?

It was the kind of sand that destroys engines

I love my TQ and can't imagine running any other carb on my 400. However, after about 20 years, it's leaking onto the intake manifold and needs rebuilding. I just checked out Harms website. $399 for a carb restoration seems a bit pricey, but I think I'll step up and pay the freight 'cause I know I don't want to deal with it.

Yep, but Jerry is going through it with his wife. So...progress has come to a grinding halt
