yeah you probably could. as long as the connector is the same and flow rate is the same. some injectors use different dispersion discs at the bottom, i know swapping ford injectors into a jeep is supposed to yeild better gas mileage becuaes the fuel is supposed to atomize better from the ford ones. never tried it though.

The only reason to swap out your injectors
If they are deposit free and working right
Is to enable using E85 fuel
Where you should choose 20 to 30 percent higher flow.

On a 1999 5.2 you should have
23.4 lb per hour
"common calibration"
Siemens injectors

The electrical plugs changed near your model year
So find out if you have EV1 or EV6

Some of the Fords, Subarus and Toyotas have
12 hole injectors
And Kawasaki claims tiny 60 micron droplets
From their 12 hole injectors

Despite what might be first thought
More fully vaporised gasoline
Seldom delivers much better power or fuel economy
And the natural gas versions
Of gasoline engines
Prove this point
... But engines running extremely lean air to fuel ratios do benefit.

visit here and you can learn a bit:

Also, cleaned/refurbed injectors are around $110/8 on ebay.

EDIT -
I've often heard teh claim of better mileage, and OEMs use them for better MPG or emissions. Most emissions occur on cold startup, so the finer vapor would presuambly leave fewer unburned hydrocarbons. On a fully-warmed engine I think we'd need scientific testing to see if they make a difference.

But change from a pintle-style injector to a smaller disc-style injector run at an appropriate higher pressure (to meet the orig flowrate) - I think that's worth exploring. (it's more work and expense, though)

I think so too!
