I've often heard teh claim of better mileage, and OEMs use them for better MPG or emissions. Most emissions occur on cold startup, so the finer vapor would presuambly leave fewer unburned hydrocarbons. On a fully-warmed engine I think we'd need scientific testing to see if they make a difference.

But change from a pintle-style injector to a smaller disc-style injector run at an appropriate higher pressure (to meet the orig flowrate) - I think that's worth exploring. (it's more work and expense, though)
