my 71 roadrunner has the standard manual drums (no power) is the master cylinder held on by bolts that go through the firewall? or is it held on by studs that are pressed into the brake pedal assembly? mine had 3" long 5/16s bolts with a crap ton of washers... pretty sure factory didn't do that haha. any help is appreciated. thanks! -kevin

Actually, they are studs with the letter "M" on the head that press into the master cylinder and the nuts with lock washers are tightened from under the dash. You really don't have to have them pressed into the master, you can just draw them in while tightening if you're careful and take your time. Here's an original set from my 71 Charger R/T 440 with Manual Drum brakes. Eddie

you now have pics of the exact correct parts you need
understood. thanks very much for taking the time to help! I very much appreciate it.
btw, IF you ever decide to sell them..
i was extremely lucky to trip over and buy a unadvertised 71 sat parts car while hunting for parts. i had 9 sec phill on here drag it back to me out of upstate ny. it was 99% unmolested/untouched under the hood except for the batt and rad cap/plug wires.. the only thing that was messed with was the dash wiring. i probably should of taken a ton more underhood detail pics then i did it was a rats nest of vaccum lines and wires under there i do have a bunch
