Do the bolts need to be a specialty type, such as ARP, or will any type do? Maybe grade 8 or something like that? This is for attaching the clutch to the flywheel.

I assume you mean pressure plate bolts.
A lot of parts stores carry Mr gasket 3/8" coarse for chevrolet, which work well.
The PP-specific bolts have a correct length shoulder under the head to center and locate the pressure plate, and the shoulder also pilots into the flywheel a little.Use these.Not hardware grade 8s.
