14" factory steel rims, I replaced the 9" front drums on the Dart with a stock KH disc setup. Now the rims clamp down on the caliper. Is there a different back space for disc equipped cars??

Oh yeah, it's a hybrid.....it burns gas and tires!

Did they have disc brakes on 14" wheeled cars? I would think they would be on 15" wheels. I don't think backspacing is going to do to much for you.

Tim, any idea what backspace I'm looking at for a disc wheel?

Like Tim said, disc brakes use an entirely different wheel. Drum brake wheels tend to be more flat on the backside. Disc brake wheels have a bulge in them to clear the calipers. Both can have the identical backspace. Backspace is not the issue. If you want to stick with 14" wheels, look for something off a Aspen/Volare in 14". Once you get them side by side to your drum wheels, you'll see the obvious difference.

Mnay poeple forget that back in the day, there was a difference in disc brake and drum brake wheels.

So would all SBP 14 x 5 1/2 rims be disc brake ones then? I thought that's what came on v8 powered, therefore disc equipped, a-bodys??

Correct, the factory SBP 14X4.5" wheels will not fit w/K-H disc brakes & all SBP 14X5.5" OE wheels WILL.
