CHRGR69 OP pro stock C Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 1,534 Florida	89 Dakota 3.9 V6 216,000 miles. On cold start up, fairly loud metallic sound coming from bottom end. Within 10 seconds or less, quiets down to normal. Been using 20W-50 oil and the consistency is fine, no foreign substances in it. Truck runs great and you will not hear the noise until the next cold start up. Grandma always said I had "hands of gold"!

RodStRace I Live Here Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 12,481 Chino Valley	First, change the oil and put a GOOD filter on. One with an anti-drainback valve. If that doesn't do it, look into going into the bottom end (pump).
