So I was poking around on my 71 Dart the other day, and crept down to peek at my left front tire.
well, wouldn't ya know it? A pretty small, but still there, rot hole. Its around 2 inch in diameter. I am pretty confident that if I start grinding away to patch, there will be more.
So my question is this...who has replaced a frame rail on an A body? Should I just bring it to a good body shop...whom will probably rake me over the coals in pricing.
Keep on mind this a grandma fresh 198ci Dart with some sheetmetal rust. Definently not a high dollar car.

I appreciate any ideas you guys can offer.

Looking at it from a NON restoration standpoint, I'd say to cut and patch the area. To replace the rail, EVERYthing comes out....Engine and trans, K member, front suspension.....Pretty big job. If the car is due for a total restoration, its just another task to do.

It is a big job I've done both on a 67 satilite pretty much the same job. If its not a 100 point car just patch it. If it gets to the point where its causing trouble then you have a big dission on your hands.
