I've never seen a '69 AXLE HOUSING that wasn't painted black....THE DIFFERENTIAL CASE IS CAST COLOR or natural/bare casting
EDIT: Sorry I was thinking axle housing and not the differential and they ARE CAST or natural again sorry

How many miles on tha tcar ? pictures ?
I have only ever seen rear chucks with light rust , was the paint they used that bad that it would burn/flake off where the paint on a axle hosing would last a lot longer ?
