Mocking up a 6.1 w/ an AlterKtion Front and Power rack n pinion. Heard conflicting information on the factory 6.1 pump not gonna work with the AGR power rack. Too much pressue

Some say use an LSx pump and some say it will work fine w/ the factory 6.1pump. Any help is appreciated.

I am doing the exact same swap. Check RMS website. I thought Bill told me it would work with the factory pump. Also, Bouchillon sells the adapter for the lines to fit the factory pump.

Let us know if you hear differently.

I have the Bouchillon adapter and Bill said he is pretty sure it will work, but he has not personally done it

Two others said I will need an LSx pump. These guys have done the swap also....

I am just gonna plumb it with the stock pump and worry about it when it pukes steering fluid all over I guess

The factory 6.1 pump will be fine.
Street & Perf makes the same misinformed statement about "too much" pressure.

I am using a 1450psi pump on an "ole" recirculating ball box (from Firm Feel stage 2) and no problems/leaks. Street & Perf would have you bring the pressure down to 950 psi which doesn't cut it on this box.

I agree with 808. haven't had any problems running the higher pressures.

Just be careful the higher pressure doesn't create too much heat in the fluid. It wouldn't hurt to run some extra line on the pressure side and/or install a cooler on the pressure side instead of the return. The higher pressure will operate other systems just fine.
