"What to do with my rear end?"

That can be taken in so many ways. Whatever you decide to do with it, I don't want to know.

Their motor made 415 hp and something like 400 ft lbs so we will assume mine does too. The trans is a 727 TCI Streetfighter with a 1800 stall and a full race TransGo shift kit. The rear is bone stock except new fluid. 3.55 gears. Everyone says the rear is killing me but before I toss a grand at some new gears and a limited slip, I'm considering swapping in this mild rv 440 and 727. Would the bigger motor make better use of the larger gears or should I still go smaller? What would you recommend?

If you have the parts for a 440 swap, and this isn't a daily driver, go big! A heavy vehicle needs torque to move!
Oh, are you sure on the 1800 stall? that seems really low. A STOCK 318 truck converter stalls in that range.

If you think you have 400 hp I'd go looking for the 200 + hp you are not using yet???
at 3100 I'd think a 400 hp gross hp motor would give 13.0's even with 3.55 gears.
so cam, heads, intake, headers, carb and what were your 60 foot and 330's well all the numbers an mph all the way down.
