Bought mine from ARP .... real nice quality piece! Not sure if Jeggs or Summitt can get it...maybe go directly to the ARP website..

i might catch some backlash on this one but imho any of these gauges come with junk indicators which is probably the most important part of the tool. fwiw i got this one off ebag and the seller has different offerings. it's cheaper and still a nice tool so with the difference in price you can buy a dial indicator worthy of the task. i also got lucky and picked up a brand new in sealed bag mitutoyo 1-2 digital point mic for a steal to measure the bolt free length. i would not use any indicator made in china for this operation. it can also be advisable to modify things to increase spindle pressure for accurate readings.

My machinist that did my Hemi rods used a Mitutoyo digital indicator that read out in .0001" increments and stretched the rod bolts to exactly .0070". I'll have to upgrade my stuff when I go to put things together to get the same stretch.

I like to split the stretch in the middle, if it calls for .0057 to .0062 I shoot for .0059 to .0060 you really should record and check the free lenght each time you take the tension ff of the bolts, trow thema away if they execeed (stretch) mare than +.0010 from original

Yep, did that. Manley says the stretch should be .0069"-.0073". Not quite in the middle, .0071" would have been the middle on the ARP2000 bolts. Here is a list of dimensions on the bolts out of the box(es).

I bought a Jegs house brand rod bolt stretch gage and immediately took it to work and had it run thru the calibration lab,,,guess what,, dead nuts thru the range, while not quite as nice as a lot of others it fit my purpose of doing this once every few years,,if I did this for a living then I would invest in a top notch checker.

i've got several different brands, ARP, Proform, BHJ, not sure what else. they all work just fine and they all read the same on the same bolt.
