I've got ceramic coated TTi headers on my Road Runner. I've had good luck touching up small scratches in the past with silver header paint.

But that got me to thinking...

What if I wanted to paint them with black header paint for more of an old school look? How well would it hold up?

I don't think I could get up the nerve to try it myself. Not on a set of high dollar TTi's anyway.

I suspect adhesion wouldn't be very good. The ceramic is so hard that it probably wouldn't etch without some surface prep to rough it up.

I think I read where some other manufactures are actually offering a black ceramic coating now.

I can fix it... my old man is a television repairman.
He's got the ultimate set of tools... I can fix it.

thats a good question. i have a set of high dollar tti's and the ceramic is just flaking off and looks like crap. my brother used the high heat ceramic satin black on a set of hooket super comps after he did a good prep and after two years they still look great. I am thinking of doing this to mt TTi's it may happen this weekend.
