any advise is appreciated. was thinking about a 2280 or 2300 and adapter. who sells then cheap? any one.

Nothing wrong with that carb, just needs a proper restoration

Scott, I know this carb is a Carter, but any idea what one so I can check on a rebuid kit? Every one calls it a BBD?

You can have the Carter BBD off of my 67 318. Never gave me any trouble.

No hint on what is wrong with it?

Throttle shaft usually needs to be bushed. The tops warp and leak.

It appears to be a super six BBD. They flow less cfm than a 318 model Different idle circuits. The slant carb has a bent PCV fitting, thicker front choke "wall"

I love those carbs! there is a Holley that that Mopar used stock when Carter went out of business.

If you rebuild it make sure you get a 6 cylinder carb to intake gasket. There is a difference!!!

There is a video on youtube from Chrysler. It doesn't completely play.

Are these the two screws that adjust the throttle?

the are located at the front of the carb on the bottom.

CARB TAG

Could you please post a crapier picture ?

How about reading it and posting the numbers .

The screws you circled are for the idle mixture

That's a super six carb. I don't need the tag to tell that. Order a kit for that year truck. The kits cover the 318 carbs too. Peel the old gaskets off and match them. There is subtle differences.

Make sure you order the /6 base gasket. It may take a few days to get one.
