Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone can post some pics of how they installed their rear sliders for their leaf springs. I want to just weld them underneath the frame (below the hole where the rear shackles go) but im not sure if this is ok or if I have to make them a part of the frame rail...used to have pics but cant find them for the life of me

Was thinking of these speedway sliders, just not sure if they will work with a chrysler spring (stock springs right now, thinking of a mono later on)

no body has any pics they can post?? Come one guys...I did a search on this and all the pics are from the back and so far away that you need binoculars to see the sliders.

The afco ones say they are not meant to be used to change ride height, I took measurements from the oem shackle point and made my boxes and welded the slider units to them the placed the boxes on the frame in the proper spots and welded the boxes on...this was almost 4 years ago and I recently switched springs and all was like new in the slider dept.

thanks for the pics! the install looks good!

I want to go to sliders, but if this is what has to be done, then it is more work involved than what im willing to get into right now

I have seen many slap the slider unit right on the frame and weld it to lower the car, then there is the pinion angle to make sure its ok.

If thats in the stars, a new rear ect its not that hard, and actually my install was pretty easy in the big picture.

But do remember most your current setup is probably based off the way the cars sits now if the eyelet isnt close to the same position many things are gonna change.

Its one mod ive done that I never have to think twice about except check the slider bolt a few times each year to make sure its tight, always is.

there's another pic in this thread.

that pic helps...so essentially I can just weld the slider right under the frame rail then. I believe I have read that the rear spring eye needs to be 2/3rds of the way to the back of car at rest because upon acceleration it will move forwards right?

Less rise in the rear, therefore better weight transfer and less side to side movement.

Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

How is it less rise... if the two set ups have the
same spring and shock its the same rise... what it
does is reduce friction and eliminates side movement...
it shouldnt hit either end of the travel

No shackle moving through the 6:00 position.

the spring still does what it wants to but with less
friction

Yup, can't control that unless a heavier spring is used.

Yeah, it's got a smallblock.
