I'm working on a Dana 60 that came out of a early (1966 to 69) B body, I noticed that it does not have a oil passage under the rear pinion bearing like all the other Dana 60 I've worked on. This is probally the only OEM early B body Dana 60 that I've work on in a long time ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shruggy.gif) Is this normal or not ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smilie_help.gif) I have one other Dana 60 in the shop now but no OEM Mopar B bodies or other OEM Mopar Dana 60 now, the other truck Dana I have, 60-2, I looked at has a passage from the front pinion bearing back under the pinion gear to the back that comes out behind the rear pinion bearing ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/1343795-scratchchin.gif) This does not look like a casting flaw, it looks like it was designed that way ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smilie_help.gif)

The passage in the bottom of the pinion bore usaly goes from the forward side of the front pinion brg to the area between the front and rear pinion brgs (to allow excess oil from building up on the back side of the pinion seal) I don't recall ever seeing the lower passage on Dana 60 go from front to back...there is a pocket in close proximitythough.
