I've used the Transtar kit in quite a few builds over the years and then cracked open the case to take a look after lots of abuse. No problems whatsoever!

Had one from murphy automotive that was good.
I think it may have been this vendor?
http://www.murphysautomotive.com/New_Website_Design/index.html

I just checked E-bay and don't see them on there anymore, but the kit had the Alto red clutches, kolene steels, new peformance front and rear bands, pump and output shaft bushings and the seal, rings, and gaskets. I think it was around $140?

There are some kits on E-bay with the high-energy clutches (about 1/2 the cost of the red clutches), but fine for most cars.

I have used Makco before, but was not really impressed (they messed up my order, and packaging was not very good.)

thanks for the replies, I feel more confident
buying.

This is my first rebuild. I practiced on an old
core I have for back up and think I can do this.
