I did the seam on my BB E-body for some additional vertical clearance, but the install was straight foward.

At some point CSR switched from Allen-head to 6-point-head bolts which allow (at least on my car) for reaching over the top of the engine to reach them, rather than having to drill through the floor / firewall like some people said they used to do for bolt access.

i just put my trans in a few weeks ago, 904 in a abody. had to bend over the seam & drill access holes in the tunnel. no big deal. u have to fit the shield to the trans first. i take it u have a 727. u will have to cut the mounting ears off. i had to trim the shield a little to get to the front band adjuster & rear cooler fitting. make it fit before u install it. saves on headaches. seeya.

Try bolting it onto the engine. I spent HOURS trying to get all the bell bolts in only to find that one of the holes in the shield was dilled in the wrong spot. I'm not the only one to have that problem. They also charged me to ship the thing back to them for "repairs". In my opinion, It was made wrong and should have been replaced.

shields are made to fit the trans, not the car. i bolted my shield to a spare case i have for mock up. as i said before, saves lots of headaches. seeya.

Yes, fits good. The only thing had to do was clearance the floor on the right side for the buckle on the strap.. No modification to the pinch weld needed.

Al. If your engine is sitting in the stock location, you will not need to modify the pinch weld seam. Cut the front ears off the trans only.
I had to modify my pinch because of my set back on the motor using an engine plate.

Al

Follow Lee's instructions. Just did one a few months ago in my 63. No issues. Engine is in stock location. I think I did knock over the pinch area slightly. I did fit it out of the car and installed it with the trans.

Good luck Al with the twisting and cussin" As you know, it's always the last bolt or screw in these things.
You'll feel safer in the burn out ditch and passing through the Amen corner.
