Here's another one for those out there. On my 66 Charger, the power steering leaks, but ONLY when I go backwards. Could this be the seal above the pitman arm, as this seems to be the only thing that changes??? I have already replced bothe hoses, needed to anyway, the back of the pump is dry.

You need to inspect the system with the engine running, while a helper turns the wheel from lock-to-lock. You'll find the leak

It only does in reverse, so your idea is very dangereuos to life and limb.
