I really don't know the answer, but are the "boomerangs" painted correctly? Should that center strip be showing the pot metal? Like just black on the inset parts...

Now that you mention it, I think you might be right. Thats just the way they came with the car. Now I have some research to do too.

center raised portion should be showng pot metal...

I did some quick research and found that most of the 68's on Andy's440 web site show the Satin Chrome center rib.

Although there is one other member on here that has his done the same way mine were done.

So they are suppose to be black? I thought I saw some that were a silver argent in the centers?

recessed portion should be a flat black, ditzler 9324 is a close match

The boomerangs on my 68 (and my spare set) are black with the center raised rib no painted.

Here is a Scat Pack press release photo. Below it is a closeup I did of the hood. It shows, as already mentioned in above posts, the center rib is not painted. Just thought you might be interested in seeing the photo.
