Wow, I bet that made the family feel real good, no doubt about the moparts community, it is the best, and closest knit on the web. Im still in shock, and just so saddend over this. Kudo's to you guys/Gal that made the trip im sure that will be forever etched in the minds of Gary's family.

Did gary's challenger make the lead position?

His Challenger was in front of the police procession. After the 21 gun salute, the Challenger was fired up and man did that bring the house down. Everyone got a little tear eyed after that.

That was the chanllenger to saying good bye

Ditto. I thought about this quite often at work today, even though I was very busy. It made it hard to concentrate.

Big Bear at the nats this year just won't be the same.

Today was probably one of the hardest things I have ever done. I lost it so many times during the service. It's just so damn unfair. I don't understand it and I am angry and sad and baffled all at the same time. When Gary's wife came and laid her head on the casket....it just hurt so bad. I feel so badly for her. And then when they loaded Gary into the hearse I was only about 5 feet away and I totally lost it again. I have never cried so much at a funeral in my whole life.

I apologize for not talking to anyone, particulalrly Onebad and Tony who were literally parked right next to me. Sorry guys I couldn't deal with it. Thanks for being there.

I can't type anymore. It hurts too bad.

MAN!! I was hoping the tears would stop by the time I got back home, but this thread and the words spoken by Rich, Dale, Steve and Tony have just brought it all flooding back.
The ceremony was something else, the representation by the moparts community was outstanding and we hope we represented those who couldn't attend, well.I am honoured and hopefully a better person for knowing Gary, and proud to be part of this Moparts community. The love and respect shown by all is truly great and it was rightly directed to a great man, husband,Police Officer and Friend.
R.I.P. Gary

Thanks for sharing. There were several times today that I would stop and look at the clock and think about the funeral. Moparts is definitely one tight bunch of good people and I'm glad to be a member.
