Anyone who has one in an A-body, quick question. Does it sit on top of the frame rails or between them?

This is in my coronet, but I'm sure the a-bodies are the same (on top of the frame rails).

Nice looking engine!

I'm adding a section to my website for customer cars. I'd like to get some photos like the ones in this thread that show my motor plate in use.

The guy I was emailing with said the salesman at Mancini told him it went between the rails, not on top of the rails like the old elephant ears. Just thought you might like to know. Some pics or a better description on their website and maybe more would sell.

I'm working a bunch of hours right now trying to desgin a new website. I'll be adding a lot more pictures and information for each product. As the sales volume has gone up, the parts are starting to be purchased now by people who don't have a ton of hot rodding experience. So I now need to do a much better job of communicating how the parts work and how they get installed.

I had a customer the other day who couldn't figure out how to measure engine offset. He thought the motor plate was defective because the engine was offset to one side by 1 3/8 inches. As you can see by the pictures in this thread, the offset is required to get the engine in the correct location, but some people don't grasp that until they see a picture. So bottom line is I do need to do a much better job of communicating how the parts work and fit.

Mancini had changed.... My vote is for the worse. I called a few weeks ago to get a price on a set of Oliver rods. He took my info and said he would call me right bak. 2 weeks later I still haven't heard a word

That E-body looks good. I'd recommend putting the L brackets to the rear of the plate though so you can remove the plate easily when the engine is still in the car.

Ask Bill for some pics.

His Dart has your motor plate and it's a really nice looking piece!

I rode in the car last weekend and all the guys that complain about how a motor plate transfers vibration the the car...well...I never felt anything out of the ordinary?!

Andy F - do you have one that centers the motor rather than using the factory offset? (b-body big block).

No. I just make ones that fit the factory chassis. Mancini sells blank motor plates that are centered. Then you cut away the material that you don't want. I think those blanks are only .250 thick though. My plates are 0.375 thick.
