Hi Everyone, I have a 1972 Road Runner with a 400 that needs the dipstick tube replaced. The original had two bends in it with a tab that is bolted to the engine mount. The replacement has one bend it with a tab that is bolted to the engine mount. Here's a link to Rick Ehrenberg's auction showing a picture of the replacement. Ehrenberg's Auction The engine is in the car and I tried installing the replacement but ended up damaging it so now I have another one on the way. I'll be filing down the part of the tube that fits into the block but I think the bolt that comes from the engine mount will still be a problem since it's in the direct path of the tube. This bolt is pressed into the mount, it can't be removed and put back when the tube is installed. Does anyone have any suggestions on how they handled this? Thanks, Mike.
