is there any issue running a 10 inch wide wheel with maybe 1.5 inches of back spacing?
super low back spacing, so other than a deep wheel that makes it hard to bolt the wheel on.

strength issues?
ride quality?
durability?

I would find a set of wheels I like with about a 4 1/2"
back spacing(which most of the wheels would have) and
cut the diff and axles BUT if you wanted to go to
a 4 link thats always good........JMO

What you are proposing ( if you can find them ) is gonna be pretty hard on axle bearings.

i wondered if it would be hard on the bearings, but talking it through with a friend, why does it matter to the bearing where the backspacing is on the wheel? a low back spacing with a wide wheel would be the same on a bearing as a taller wheel with more backspacing right? similar pressures on the bearing, right?

I prefer my backspace centered on the wheel, just my :

But I do have a 4 link set up, so I was able to do it my way versus having to settle.

It really doesn't matter whether you win or lose…
as long as you look good doing it!

Its a leverage thing... the farther you move away
from the bearing the greater the leverage

thats what i was trying to say, but dana 60's run 44 inch tall tires.... that weigh a lot!!!! they seem to last... is a 15 inch wheel really going to cause that much of an issue?

Maybe not BUT it will still add load to the bearing

okay, so doing a 4 link myself looks to be around 1000$. I am a capable welder and my friend owns a custom fab shop if i need some help. Still parts alone are about 1000$ I am just trying to get this back on the road.
Is it possible to extra mini tub my car?
what i mean by that is, i have mini tubbed my a-body, moved the springs to the on top of the frame rails. The springs are almost 1 inch wider than the widest point of the frame rails, can i move the REAR of my springs inward causing a V shape with the springs? The front would be wider than the rears. Is this something that has been done here? Im thinking an offset hanger in the rear would be all i need. That way I could have more backspace on a wheel.

There was a thread a while ago, re inboarding springs and one guy posted some pics of his springs on the inside of the frame rails front and back, i cant remember his name though.
