Bought a set of LCA's for the charger... I'm told these are bent but they look about the same to me. Got pictures of the new ones compared to the old ones.

New set up close. I'm told they're bent up at the top

Hard to tell from pics, but take a look at the ball joint stud holes: Are they bent aft, as if the wheels on the previous car hit a high curb maybe...?

I'll have to check tomorrow. I think tonight I'll tear my parts car apart and see what the ones there look like

Yup, at a glance, the outer forgings (at LBJ stud hole) both appear to be bent back.

I agree. Get them cleaned up and you can really tell. If the forged parts are bent there would almost certainly be damage to the stamped parts.

For comparison...a K frame I have laying here, you can see how its a straight shot for the stamped and forged end bit basically.

Contacted the seller on eBay - he claims the car he took them out of hasn't been wrecked. I'll see what the ones on my parts car look like. I just find it hard to believe they are bent back exactly the same. But who knows what happened in 40 years.

Wasn't necessarily "wrecked" - just impacted a curb straight-on, fairly hard. Amazingly, the forged part beds before any stamped-steel part does -- actually not that surprising, lots more load concentration there (that's why they're drop-forged!) (And the tension strut "protects" the rest of the arm.)

The one on the left is bent.

Put a straight edge down the middle and compare. It's not going to be 100% perfect. But you get an idea.

Thanks for the replys everyone. Went down to the local dodge dealer and talked to a tech who was very knowledgeable on b-bodys. Like everyone said, they're for sure bent. Got ahold of the person I bought them from and I'll be getting a refund which is a good thing. Bummer that both of them were bad but I guess that's how things go sometimes.
