Yep, 67 only motor.

Do you have a picture of the wiper motor? I have several but want to match it up to be sure, then I can get you the right number.

It actually looks like a typical 2-speed wiper motor. So your car is orginally a 67 and you made it a 68 clone? I also assume you have the original 67 switch too?

yes a 67 i converted to a 68 clone. car originally had a 3 speed set up which i traded to a member on here that is supposed to be an expert on wiper systems, that said this would work but it doesn't. i emailed him and now he has made excuses and hasn't got back to me (over a year ago) as he said he would. i made the change trying to get a look of originality as the 2-speed is much lighter and that is what most of the ss cars ran ( but i know you are already aware of that with your experiences with darts). the wipers do work but not correctly. we have tried every combination of connections and cannot get it to work correctly. checking my options i found out 67s take a 1 yr only switch which i obviouslly don't have (that was what i traded for, an nos switch)and i'm trying to determine if the motor is also a year specific item as i really don't want to buy switches and motors that won't solve this issue. i really appreciate your help on this rhino and your pictures of the ss dart you were involved with helped me during the build of my car and i thank you for that. dave

No problem Dave! So you had a three speed to begin with, that answers the question. Definitely a different switch for a 2-speed, and 67's are unique also. I assume you are still using the 67 dash wiring harness? There can be some differences in the switch wiring. Let me know what you need, I am sure I have a few of the correct switches laying around.

I checked the parts manuals and the switch part numbers are as followed:

67 2-speed 2820525
68 2-speed 2864415
67 and 68 3-speed variable 2770378

So you can see that they indeed change from 67 to 68 for the 2-speed motor. All A-Body 3-speed motors are also variable and have the same part number for 67 and 68.

ok, thanks for those #s. it is a 67 wiring harness. i'll have to check the # on the switch the wiper man gave me but i know it's wrong since it doesn't work correctly. also is the motor a 1 yr only deal or will any\most 2 speed wiper motors work? do you have any 67 2 speed switches? thanks again for you help. dave

The one year only motor is for the 3-speed variable, the 2-speed motors are the same as far as I can tell. I will have to check and see if I have a 67 2-speed switch.

rhino: i finally got to the dart to get a better picture and guess what? the lighting isn't very good in the garage with where the car is sitting but here it is. as you said it seems to be a generic (multi-yr) motor so maybe a switch will straighten this out. oh and i went to columbus to the swap on sat. and did find a switch so now it's just waiting for the weather to break to get the car to where i can change the switch. thanks again for your help! dave

Sounds good, hopefully that will solve the problem!
