The was a great showing of Moparts members paying their respect at Gary's funeral today. The amount of Police officers was incredible. The church was over capacity.
Made me proud to be a member and see all the support for Gary's family and friends.

It was truely moving. I saw police cars from every town in lower Michigan, all the way to Traverse City. That's over 250 miles away. I will always remember this, as I will Gary.

That is too cool to explain. I'm sure Gary appreciates it all. I wish I could have been there.

There was a few police bikes and cars in front, then the challenger, then hundreds of police and fire vehicles. The mopars were at the rear.

His Challenger was in front of the police procession. After the 21 gun salute, the Challenger was fired up and man did that bring the house down. Everyone got a little tear eyed after that.

Thanks for posting the pictures, wish I could have been there but I wasn't sure my old car could do the 1300 mile round trip pulling 3.91 gears (3500 at 70 mph). I think I will regret not making the trip, the cars still setting outside packed and ready to go with Garys badge number on both rear windows

RIP Un

Ditto. I thought about this quite often at work today, even though I was very busy. It made it hard to concentrate.

Big Bear at the nats this year just won't be the same.

Today was probably one of the hardest things I have ever done. I lost it so many times during the service. It's just so damn unfair. I don't understand it and I am angry and sad and baffled all at the same time. When Gary's wife came and laid her head on the casket....it just hurt so bad. I feel so badly for her. And then when they loaded Gary into the hearse I was only about 5 feet away and I totally lost it again. I have never cried so much at a funeral in my whole life.

I apologize for not talking to anyone, particulalrly Onebad and Tony who were literally parked right next to me. Sorry guys I couldn't deal with it. Thanks for being there.

I can't type anymore. It hurts too bad.

MAN!! I was hoping the tears would stop by the time I got back home, but this thread and the words spoken by Rich, Dale, Steve and Tony have just brought it all flooding back.
The ceremony was something else, the representation by the moparts community was outstanding and we hope we represented those who couldn't attend, well.I am honoured and hopefully a better person for knowing Gary, and proud to be part of this Moparts community. The love and respect shown by all is truly great and it was rightly directed to a great man, husband,Police Officer and Friend.
R.I.P. Gary

i picked up a paper in the airport that had the pic of gary's flag draped caskest in the foreground and sea of men in blue saluting in the background while the pipes played amazing grace . the article estimated the funeral procession was 5 MILES LONG , every main intersection on the route was blocked .

it was truly a sight to see .

i'm sorry i didn't get to meet up with all the moparts guys yesterday .

running up my post count some more .

"MAN!! I was hoping the tears would stop......, but this thread and the words spoken by Rich, Dale, Steve and Tony have just brought it all flooding back."

I'll second this one... I know this had alot to do with it too. for me anyways..."When Gary's wife came and laid her head on the casket....it just hurt so bad. I feel so badly for her. "

When a new member signs on, do ya think they really know what they are in for? This has got to be the BIGGEST and BEST internet "extended family". I am sooo proud to be part of it and soo honored to have met the people that I have. AND I can't wait to meet more.. Rest well Gary.. See ya again.

FWI, I bet while he is looking on us with that smile, he also has tears in his eyes as he now knows how many people he has touched in one way or another..

Looks awesome I'm so glad that such a representation of mopars was there. If I were closer I'd have been there, but unfortunatly I'm not. thanks to all who attended and who shared their pictures.

God bless Gary's wife, family and friends. He will be missed.
