I got to Bowling green yesterday at 12:30pm and according to Ray, Eddie had been shooting the breeze all day. So there was work to be done and the car was NOT teched. By the time we were ready to make a hit, it was 3:30 and the track was closing at 4:30. The batt was dead and had to be jumped. The plan called for one 300 footer on the small kit, to get a plug reading and go from there. We made the short checkout, towed it back and checked the plugs and by this time the day was done, so we really got nowhere. Todays plan called for hitting the track early and making a couple hits on the small kit, before turning the bigger one on. That all changed. With the threat of rain and no time to test, the decision was made to "go for it" on the one and only pass today. I set it up soft, so that I knew it would go down the track and run decent. The car left on the small kit, the progressive was on the second kit, again set very soft, to make sure it went and the car ran 7.98 @ 172.I had the timing extremely low, since I only had one 300 foot check out pass, on the small kit. Eddie can be more agressive with the progressive, add a little timing and I feel sure the car will go .70s pretty easy, with the fairly small jets in it.
He will be on his own from here though, as I have meetings in BG for a couple days and then off to ADRL in Rockingham, so I won't be able to follow along. He has nothing for Larson's twin turbo monster, but that is an unlimited car, so Eddie should win his class easily and still likely be the 2nd fastest car on the grounds, regardless of class.
