My machinist is wondering since the block is Siamese if the air could be trapped and it might be better to put a couple holes in the gasket as seen below to insure no air is trapped??

normally i would say no being the head gaskets are designed to direct and control coolant flow, however in your case it probably would be a good idea to put a few small holes there to bleed out any trapped air. you'd need three bleed holes right?

Make sure you check the deck oil feed holes. Mine had blind pipe plugs in there where 0.040" restrictors were supposed to be. Don't ask me when I discovered that.

I wouldn't worry about it until I thought there might be a problem You can always jack the front of the car way up when the motor is installed and loosen the radiator cap to let any trapped air out, maybe turn the electric water pump on or start the motor to circulate the water to help remove any trapped air

A Hemi racer told me once that when filling with water keep the pump [ electric ] running and it would disperse the air, if you fill then turn on the pump the air would be locked. Don't know , just what he told me. I'm sure water wetter would help also.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead
