Been fighting an intermittent Ignition problem with my Barracuda for quite some time. It basically has come and gone the last few years. Tried to get it out of storage today and had the same issue. The car will turn over fine but has no spark. As in the past while troubleshooting, it all of a sudden starts. As before, I changed the Ign. module, ballast resistor and coil to no avale. I then start tracing the system. I pulled the connector off the bulkhead that supplies from the ign switch and cleaned both ends of the contacts. They didn't appear corroded. Cranked three or 4 times then took off. Before I pulled the connector I checked the voltage at the positive lead of the coil and had 6 volts or so in the run mode and about 9.5 at start. Had the same voltage even after it had spark. This thing will work for awhile I'm sure then pop up again. I'm suspecting an intermittent connection in the ignition switch. I've also inspected the ign switch connector under the dash and it looks good. I installed a Mopar Performance Electronic Ignition kit in it back in 2001.It orginally cam e with points.Any other opinions would be great before I tear into this.I've verified all the wiring between the engine compartment and dash area.I bought teh car from the original lady owner back in 01 and the underdash wiring hasn't been monkeyed with at all.

If you're getting voltage to the coil, I'd suspect the pick-up in the distributor.

That is the one thing I hadn't tried. Haven't had one of those so intermittent though. But I did see voltage at the primary of the coil. That's why I'm unsure about the Switch.

Had the ign switch go bad on my '72 RR a few years back. Wasn't intermittent though, IIRC, but it's a possibility...

That pickup does sound a bit like this. I had the 9-10 volts at the coil so that's what made me rethink my decision of a new switch and under hood wise I had tried all the other possibilities and gone thru the wiring. I hadn't ventured there cause this really wasn't the old original it was a Mopar Performance distributor though 10 years old now. It also was an issue only at startup. Thanks for the input.
