Just wondering if a person for whatever odd reason swapped in a later 904 into a 68 model car how they can modify the wiring for the neutral safety switch to accept the 3 prong switch vs the 1 prong. The car is a column shift and staying that if possible. Please let me know. What does a person need to do exactly? Is there a harness I can buy? Thank you.

Use the center wire on the three wire plug.

So, basically I imagine I change the connector on the end of my current one wire setup to adapt to the center pole on the newer switch correct? My next concern is and it would be nice but, what about wiring up the backup lights? I know the 68s have the backup switch on the column but, I am wondering if I can change that or how?

My main reason why I am asking is because we are switching the transmission in the 68 Coronet and it is going to be easier to find a later unit to rebuild plus the part throttle kickdown will be a welcome for climing the hills of TN and NC and I realize the internal parts of that is different than the 68 so that's why.

I would get a later pig tail, either from the junk yard, or a freind, or a fellow member, and then just use the center wire. Splice it into your excisting wire, & clip the other two off at the plug. Get the new switch at rock auto for under 10 bucks and be done with it.
