I want to drop the front end about 1/2". I adjusted the torsion bar bolt. Now the bolt is about 1" completely away fron the torsion bar arm. If I bounce the car up and down it dropped the 1/2" but not all the way back down to the set bolt. What would be preventing it from dropping. On a side note this is a 74 Barracuda with a 340 and I have replaced the shocks, bushings and ball joints. The car was undercoated back in the day. So I'm not sure if it's rust, bushings or the undercoating. Or a combination. Should I be using liquid wrench to loose anything? Thanks!

You may have to loosen the nut on front of lower control arm pivot shaft (about 3 turns). That will allow the aduster lever to spin freely as the bushing is pressed into center of the pivot. You might want to crank adjuster bolts back up a bit first, especially if the tip of bolt is not against lever right now. Don't smash yourself under there because we won't be able to hear you call for help. Sounds like the engine is not in that car as it should have dropped down a lot.

Engine and 727 tranny are in. The car is complete. I will try and losing the bolt on the lower pivot arm. I will have the wife there, hopefully she will call for help if I drop the car on myself. Thanks!
